Firmware upgrade policy

Overview

KingSmith is committed to ensuring the security of all devices and providing firmware upgrade updates, including security updates, bug fixes, and new features, in ccordance with established best practices and within the support period.This document describes King Smith's firmware upgrade policy for fitness equipment products and the support for security updates, bug fixes, and new features.

Upgrade policy

KingSmith places great importance on security and privacy. Therefore, we provide excellent maintenance for our products, including technical support and regular releases that include security updates, bug fixes, and new features based on user feedback. Generally, major version updates are provided every three years, while minor version updates are provided as needed. However, if any severe vulnerabilities are reported, we will arrange for immediate updates.KingSmith does not provide security updates for older versions. Therefore, all KingSmith devices need to be updated to firmware versions that include the latest security updates. Older versions may require multiple consecutive firmware updates to obtain the latest version.For security reasons, firmware downgrading will no longer be supported. KingSmith maintains compatibility between firmware versions.You can check the list of products that are no longer supported for firmware updates on the Product Security Center website.

How to upgrade firmware

KingSmith provides a firmware update method:

Manual update.

When there is a firmware update for the device, users will receive a version update prompt. By installing the latest firmware, users can get new features and have a better user experience. Users can perform the 【Firmware Upgrade】 operation in the 【My】-【My Device】-【Device】-【Firmware Upgrade】 section of the mobile application.

APP Software Upgrade Policy

KingSmith is committed to ensuring the safety of the APP and using the latest features based on established best practices. Within the support period, we provide APP version upgrade updates, including security updates, bug fixes, and new features.This document describes the version upgrade update policy of KingKingSmith APP products and the support for security updates, bug fixes, and new features.

Upgrade policy

Kingsmith attaches great importance to security and privacy issues. Therefore, we provide excellent maintenance for our products, including technical support and regular releases, which include security updates, bug fixes, and new features based on user feedback. Generally, major version updates are provided once a quarter, while minor version updates are provided as needed. However, if some serious vulnerabilities are reported, we will arrange updates immediately.Kingsmith does not provide security updates for older versions. Therefore, all Kingsmith devices need to be updated to the APP version that includes the latest security updates.For security reasons, there will no longer be a downgrade method available for APP updates. Kingsmith maintains compatibility between APP versions.You can check the list of products that are no longer supported for APP updates on the Product Security Center website.

How to upgrade the APP

Kingsmith provides two ways to update the APP:

Automatic update

You can enable the 【Automatic Update】 feature on your mobile phone system, and when there is a new version update for the APP, your phone application will automatically update the APP to the latest version.

Manual update.

If your phone's system does not have the 【auto-update】 feature enabled, you can check the app in the mobile app store to see if it is the latest version and update it.

Support policy

We strive to provide continuous security updates for our products, including treadmills, walking machines, rowing machines, and exercise bikes. Security updates typically include the latest security patches, security vulnerability fixes, and other security improvements. We will maintain security updates for at least 2 years from the release date of certain device models.We regularly release and update the list of discontinued products below to help you check if your device can still receive security updates.

*Some models may support security updates for 3 years or longer, depending on the actual situation. If a highly critical security vulnerability is discovered, we may provide necessary security fixes even if your device is on the discontinued list.

Discontinued product list

The following is our list of discontinued products. This means that we will no longer maintain any software or firmware updates (including security updates) for these products, and we may also not respond to security vulnerability reports for such products.

If our support cycle changes, we will use the following process to ensure a quick release:

2.Define the new support period:
• Clearly define the new support period, including the start and end dates. Please consider factors such as product lifecycle, potential security risks, and customer needs.
3.Internal communication:
• Notify all relevant internal teams of the decision to extend the support period. This includes development, security, customer support, and management teams.
4.Legal and compliance review:
• Have the legal and compliance teams review the public statement to ensure its compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5.Release the statement:
• Publish the public statement on your official website, product documentation, or other communication channels. Ensure that your customers can easily access it.
6.We declare that will not shorten the support period after its publication.
